Personal:

Dr. Amy Newkirk grew up in Lindenhurst, Illinois, a far northwest suburb of Chicago.  For college, she attended Truman State University, graduating in 1999 with a B.A. in Biology.  After college, Dr. Newkirk attended Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine.  Her training continued with a graduate residency program at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago.

Excited about being back in northern Illinois and near family again, she started a private practice in Evanston, Illinois immediately following graduation from her residency.  In August 2007, Dr. Newkirk joined Drs. Collins, Deter, and Wines in their practice here in Sycamore.  In May 2008, Dr. Newkirk and Randy Newkirk were married.  They are overjoyed to be settling down in the area as they have many family ties to the Sycamore, DeKalb, St. Charles, and Waterman areas, not to mention their nieces and nephews nearby to spoil.  When not in the office, Amy and Randy spend a lot of time on the walking paths in the area as they are avid hikers and travelers.  They also spend a lot of time in the kitchen these days as Randy attempts to teach Amy how to cook!
